Fooling Around at the Fort.

The west coast, from Portland to Seattle is dotted with these Gunnery bases hastily built after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Apparently we were afraid they'd try to invade through the Peugeot Sound and Columbia river.

They never fired a single shot in defense, but many of them have been preserved and make for a great place for the kids to run around.

Owen is loaded and ready for fire, and not happy about it at all!

Summer in Seattle

Finally out of the car at Deception Pass in Washington. On our way to a very chilly camping trip on Whidby Island with our friends the Johnsons.

High temps were in the mid 60's in mid August with lots of clouds and rain! Also lot of mud being tracked around everywhere!
